Redbull has been supporting sports events in Turkey and worldwide for many years. This year, ambitious pilots will be taken to Caddebostan beach in Istanbul for a Redbull Flight Day called Flugtag on the 14th of August 2022.
Red Bull Flugtag was first held in Vienna in 1992 and spread worldwide after garnering great interest. Since the first Red Bull Flugtag was held in Vienna, Austria, in 1992, more than 150 Red Bull Flugtag have been held worldwide, attracting up to 300,000 spectators to a single event. In Turkey, the event was held for the first time in 2008 and then again in Istanbul in 2013 and 2019. This year, 39 teams have registered to participate. The Chicken Whisperers broke the longest-distance record in California with a distance of 78.6 meters.
Anyone who dreams of flying is invited to attend this event. Pilots creative enough to design a human-powered aircraft and brave to fly in front of thousands of people will have an unforgettable experience with their teams.
Red Bull Flugtag challenges the brave and intelligent to design, build and pilot homemade flying machines from a 30ft high flight deck in hopes of soaring into the wild blue beyond or, more frequently, crashing into the waters below. Flugtag, "Flying Day" in German, pushes the limits of human-powered flying, but it takes contestants more than airtime to make the podium.
Teams are judged according to flown distance, technical creativity, and showmanship. This criterion has inspired flying tacos, prehistoric pterodactyls, and even a giant hamburger to decorate the flight decks at Red Bull Flugtag.
Redbull hosts a lot of sporting events around the world supporting aspiring sportsman to showcase their creativity and to make their dreams come true.
