Kartal and Maltepe are some of the newest desirable neighborhoods on the Asian side along Istanbul’s northeastern Marmara Seashores. Kartal & Maltepe: Location

Kartal is located between Maltepe and Pendik. The coastal area is more densely populated, but lovely countryside areas inland are buffered by Yakacik and Aydos hills. The site has gone through a period of regeneration. It was formally a central industrial zone, but the factories have long since shuttered and moved inland, allowing the area to thrive.

Maltepe and Kartal lie on the eastern outskirts of Istanbul. They are well linked to other city areas like Kadikoy and Atesehir by metro, Marmaray, buses, and minibusses, with a fast ferry to Bostanci and frequent ferries to the islands. 

The international airport, Sabiha Gokcen, offers flights all over the country and abroad. The nearby E-5 highway eases access to points in and out of the city. Both areas have populations of over half a million.
