Kagithane: from industrial zone to exciting new residential area

Kagithane is experiencing an extraordinary phase of urban renewal that is completely transforming this central neighborhood. Adjacent to the central districts Beyoglu, Maslak, Eyup, and Sisli, this European-side neighborhood has a population of about half a million spread out over a 23-square-kilometer area. Reflective of its industrial past, its name means “the paper factory”.
