Turkiye Digital Banking Users Rise to 85 million.

Active digital banking users in Turkiye numbers have increased from 70.8 million to 85.1 million from June 2021 to June 2022, reported Banks Association of Turkiye (TBB). Commercial digital banking users rose from 3.1 million to 3.8 million, while retail customers grew from 67.7 million to 81.3 million. The data also shows mobile banking users soared from 58.9 million to 73.9 million. 

However, only-internet-banking users declined from 2.96 million in June 2021 to 2.5 million in the same month of 2022. 

Male digital banking customers are more than their female counterparts, with 54.4 million and 26.9 million customers, respectively. 

Money transfers had the largest share in financial transactions in internet banking. An increase from 88 billion liras worth of transactions to 175 billion liras was recorded for payments done via internet banking. 

The total amount invested through transactions is 636 million liras (invested through 69 million transactions), a rise from 348 million liras a year ago. 

The number of credit card transactions increased from 6 million and 26 billion liras in June 2021 to 7 million and 51 billion liras, respectively.
