Anticipating another successful tourism season, Turkey is ready to welcome 30 million arrivals this year. As of May 15, if you are coming from a list of 15 green lighted countries, preparations for your trip just became easier as you will no longer have to show a PCR negative test result 72 hours before departure or a certificate of vaccination. This new policy affects travelers arriving to Turkey from Hong Kong, China, Vietnam, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, South Korea, Israel, Japan, United Kingdom, Latvia, Luxembourg, Ukraine and Estonia. All arrivals must still complete a passenger information form before embarking to Turkey.

Daily infections have shown a downward trend since the start of the nationwide three-week lockdown and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has announced that Turkey will continue to remain cautious with its COVID-19 measures until the end of May. Restrictions will be eased from June onwards and full details about the reopening stages will be released on May 17.  Turkey is continuing its mass vaccination campaign against COVID-19, which it launched on January 14, and according to data from the Health Ministry has administered over 25.49 million coronavirus shots. Gearing up for the official start to the high season in June, Turkey has sped up and prioritized tourism industry worker’s vaccinations to prepare for a safe summer season. Additionally, Turkey’s robust health care system has managed quick turn arounds for antigen and PCR tests and amid the Covid-19 pandemic has seen a rise in telehealth, home based and online doctor consultancy services mirroring worldwide trends of startups operating in the digital health field.
