Teknofest Aerospace and Technology Festival 2021

In the bid to support the National Technology Move, Teknofest is again this year hosting its Annual Aerospace and Technology Festival at the Ataturk Airport in Istanbul, Turkey from September 21 to September 26, 2021.  

The event hosted by the Technology Team Foundation (T3),  the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Industry and Technology, and other partners have a variety of activities such as technology competitions, air shows, seminars, and interviews lined up. The event which was held virtually in 2020 has great potential of receiving visitors from different countries this year which is good for investment.

Many organizations partner with the event in order to help play a critical role in developing national technology. Technology competitions are held to help ambitious youths who need to build a career in the Techworld and also to keep Turkey as a technology-producing society.  

Aerospace Indonesia known as PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) and Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) strengthened their bilateral cooperation through signing a Memorandum of Understanding at the same event. The 2 countries have been working together for a long time and the Indonesian Embassy indicated that there is a need to extend production of N219 aircraft, modernization, and life extension of the Turkish CN 235 aircraft fleet.


PDTI is taking the opportunity to increase their sales for N219 and CN 235 - 220 through showcasing their flagship at Teknofest. 

Erin Motors, an engine producer in Turkey introduced 2 types of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) engines, the 6-hp, and 11-hp which can be used as observer drones. The engines are particularly suited for vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) as described by the company’s General Manager Ersin Sahin, in the Daily Sabah.

He indicated that there is a need to support domestic engineering so that the locally produced engines will move from 90% to 100%.

Visitors witnessed the first UAVs and aircraft staged air show demonstration in the world according to Selcuk Bayraktar, the chair of the event’s organizer of the Turkish Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation).

At the same event, Google will be signing 2000 young people interested in boosting careers in Technology, offering them more than 400 hours of training as indicated by Minister of Industry and technology, Mustafa Varank. These youths will also have the opportunity to meet investors and benefit from mentoring services from Entrepreneurship Foundation and T3 Entrepreneurship Center.
